If you’ve attended the IBM Connect conference in recent years, or if you’re part of the IBM Collaboration Solutions user community, you probably know—or know of—Julian Robichaux. He’s a senior software developer at panagenda (an IT management software solutions provider and strategic IBM Business Partner), and he’s been named an IBM Champion every year since 2011.

I promised a summary of the second part of the Opening General Session. And I will include it here, but this posting is mostly about the future of IBM Notes and Domino. It’s based around four separate sessions and lectures about the strategy around and development on the Notes and Domino platform.

IBM Connect 2017 #2: Cognitive Cognitive Cognitive

By Hogne B. Pettersen | 2/24/17 2:42 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

Last year I was quoted on Twitter saying “If you hated the word social, get ready to hate the word ‘cognitive’.” Boy is that word thrown out a lot by IBM these days. Not least the opening general session at Connect 2017 here at Moscone West in San Francisco.

IBM Connect 2017 highlights the Negative and Emotional Impact of IBM’s Co-Location policy

By John Head | 2/23/17 6:15 PM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

The effects of IBM's new co-location policy have hit close to home this week at IBM Connect 2017. I have had numerous IBMers basically say good-bye this week. They either have been given their notice and have no intention of moving, or they see the writing on the wall. Some are even leaving IBM immediately after the conference.

By Hogne B. Pettersen | 2/22/17 5:06 PM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

Still in the US, but in a new city, on a new date and with a lot of new things you normally don’t associate with Lotusphere, now known as IBM Connect. The city is San Francisco and the location is Moscone West, a gigantic conference center in downtown San Francisco.

IBM Connect 2017 Opening General Session

By Volker Weber | 2/22/17 4:40 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

There are two parts, the first was at 10 am, the second part at 1 pm. I find very little in the first part interesting. Watch for Chris Crummey, the guy with the pocket square (Einstecktuch). The second one you should watch from beginning to end. If you are interested in Notes and Domino, that would be towards the end of the video.

Lotus Evangelist: Welcome to NOT Orlando

By Keith Brooks | 2/22/17 2:53 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

IBM Connect, or Lotusphere, as us old people call it kicked off last night with the welcome reception and today with the Opening General Session. This year we break from tradition to visit San Francisco instead of Orlando. Many traditions may not return, but thank God for Ephox and Aussie Night, and Mat. Disclaimer, IBM Champions are invited in advance and are loved by Ephox.

IBM Verse on Premises 1.0.0.1 integration with Connections Files. How to make it work

By Roberto Boccadoro | 2/15/17 11:43 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

I installed Verse on Premises 1.0.0.1 in my environment but when I tried to add a link to a file in Connections when composing an email I got an error “Sorry we cannot retrieve your files at the moment”. After a chat with my excellent friend and IBM Champion Christoph Stoettner, he found the problem and the solution.

By Cameron Gregor | 2/14/17 3:35 PM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

In a previous post in this series I did a bit of an overview on how MIME works. We also did a little bit about how MIME works in XPages + Domino land. With this knowledge in hand we can now start to analyse the different ways a ‘Pretty words, pictures and attachments’ can be stored in the document.

I did these two sessions today as part of the technical track "SpeedGeeking" sessions. The Backup one was more of an interactive session with a link to numerous free and not so free backup software options.

IBM Connect 2017

By Paul Withers | 2/13/17 1:56 PM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

With a little over a week to go, IBM Connect 2017 looks set to be as busy as ever. 2016 was a challenging year as a Domino developer, testing the faith and patience of many. My attendance at IBM Connect as a speaker, Business Partner and IBM Champion may seem “business as usual”, but it has not been a straightforward journey. So I hope the experience is as positive as last year but with a more positive rest of the year.

Why companies should train their employees in IT-Security today

By Fredrik Norling | 2/13/17 12:50 PM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

Demands what and what not the employees do on their computers becomes more and more important. Some examples, a person comes in to the reception desk with a presentation with coffee stains on it. Asks to get a new copy, please it’s on my USB drive.

Using IBM Verse (and Notes) to Keep Track of My Traveling Plans

By Hogne B. Pettersen | 2/7/17 4:24 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

I’m a pretty disorganized person who had to force myself to become organized. And I have succeeded pretty well with it, even if I do have a few relapses now and then.

By Andreas Ponte | 1/30/17 2:43 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by John Oldenburger

Last week the IBM Verse Calendar (Cloud only for now..) got a major redesign. It had been announced some time ago, finally it has been released and I must say, well done IBM. It has a nice design and the enhanced functionality helps organizing your “calendar day”.
