In this period I'm working on HCL Connections migrations from 6.0 to 7.0 and I'm using the side by side approach. While I'm during this job, I prefer to use the dbt.jar for database migrations because this could help me to identify and fix issue at db schema level.
In this migrations I had some issue with Wikis, Files (the same for both db) and Metrics

We are living the hard days before the end year holidays.
Between 2 HCL Connections go-live, log4j issue and some more crazy things I'm also working on my first HCL Digital experience ( Formerly Known As WebSphere Portal ) 9.5 CF199 deployment for a customer in Kubernetes.
Following the default deployment in a Kubernetes environment the portal, cwprofile and the WebSphere console are deployed as default behind an ambassador service used for ingress on port 80 and 443 but, after I have started the db-transfer migration and reached the restart step , the wizard became unresponsive and the process failed.

HCL Connections is a customizable product, using the traditional way with " <CNX-CUSTOMIZATION-DIR> " or using customizer.
During this days we are working on an upgrade to version 7 where the whole cnx theme it was supposed to be customized in red even the Invite guest
After some test without the result , because the HCL documentation was not updated (invite application is NOT mentioned even reading version 7.0 doc) we have found the correct path in a css comment ....

As you know , HCL Connections have a complementary sw named Docs, that is able to add the feature to view/edit "office" files inside Connections directly into the Browser.
During last years I've installed several of this, some complete, some limited to the Viewer/Converter part and what I like to write is the official docs it's a total mess and for a newbie it's not useful and full of wrong advice.

HCL Sametime 11.6 is supporting MongoDB 4.4 and this is the suggested version in case of new install.
One of the suggested steps during a Community setup is enable the Mongo security as described here , but the steps there are not enough, because 4.4 version in case of replica set , require also the creation and the use of a shared key to every Mongo server involved in the replica set, even if the replica set is composed by 1 node.

During last weeks I'm working mostly on HCL Sametime preparing some meetings environments.
After the release of the 11.6 we have noted the server wasn't able to start if installed after FP3 of Domino 11.0.1.

Today I was working for one of my HCL DX customers and one of the tasks needed was change the SSL certificate used by the IBM HTTP Server.
During past days I have generated and tested the certificate directly from Ikeman utility using an IHS 8.5.5.FP16 without issue but on a 8.5.5 OLD FixPack server starting the service I was getting

After checks on IBM docs I saw several upgrades related to KDB during the years and Fixpacks so I decided to try to create a new KDB directly from this 8.5.5 old FP server.

Since Connections 6.0 CR5 , was released there was also an update of the great optional editor formerly know as Ephox now named TinyMCE 5.
I love this editor ( and my customers love it too) because all the features available, so I usually add it to all my Connections setup.
In almost every cases the setup is very easy because to perform the setup it's needed only to run a script and install an EAR on the appserver but in some cases due particular SSH config, it could be required the manual setup.
During my last CR5 upgrade I wasn't able to use the script so I've followed the manual setup like it's written on IBM Documentation at this page..

One of the new features of the IBM Connections 6.0 CR5 is the availability of a new admin command to move the file ownership between users.
As usual this feature has no GUI and you have to use it from wsadmin prompt .

Last Octobert IBM and HCL has released the new , nice and handsome Domino and Notes V10, but right now using Smartcloud Notes the mail10 template is not yet available as default.

Working on a WebSphere 8.5.0.2 environment I was unable to delete an Application server getting the error ADMG0011E. Inside DMGR and NodeAgent logs I wasn't able to find anything related but inside DMGR FFDC, folder I got a log generated during the deletion time frame with following exceptions.

During last weeks I was working on WebSphere Portal 9 environment who runs over a WebSphere Application server 9.0 FP4 with last JVM available 8.0 SR5 . Every day after some hours I've noted the nodes goes in unsynched status without a clear reason and after a manual SyncNode the syncronization will be restablished until the next day.
