Problem when uploading ID file to Vault with Admin Client 14.x to Domino 12.0.1.x

Today I had the problem that a customer complained about the problem of uploading the ID of a new registered user to an existing vault. I could see the following entries in the local log.nsf:27.08.2024 11:03:00 ID 'C:\HCL\Notes\Data\user\testuser1.id' failed to upload to vault 'O=customer_vault' on server 'CN=SERVER01/O=SRV'. 'Test User1' made request. Error: Remote system no longer responding
After opening a case I received the link to a TechNote where a problem with Admin Client V14.x and HCL Domino 12.0.1.x is documented. I afterwards modified the setting in the NOTES.INI of the client and now the upload of the ID for the newly registered user is working fine !!!
Be aware to put the setting “TCPIP=TCP,0,15,16000” only in the NOTES.INI of a V14 client !!! If you set this value in a NOTES.INI of V12, the client will not startup and will cause serious troubles !!!
HCL Domino TOTP & Passkey authentication

In a customer environment I have enabled the great working TOTP authentication. After migration the environment to Domino V14 I also enabled the Passkey authentication in the same Internet Site document.Afterwards neither TOTP authentication nor Passkey Authentication worked. A clarification of the HCL Support delivered the following information: You cannot enable both authentication types for the same internet site document !!
Running offline activities on databases with Domino V14

Last week I migrated a HCL Domino V11 server to V14 and tried to run the compact task to upgrade the databases to ODS55 but received the following error:HCL Notes: error 0x1F3After some investigations and a very helpful hint of the HCL Support I could modify my existing script because due to the structural change in HCL Domino V14 the NOTES.INI now is located in the Domino\Data directory and so you have to run an offline compact this way:
– Stop the HCL Domino Server
– Change to the Domino\Data directory
– [dominoprogramdirectory]\ncompact.exe -ODS -# 4
How to make private calendar entries marked “Private” in the Resource Database

By default if you create a calendar entry and you mark this entry as "Private" and schedule either a room or a resource the entry in the resource reservation database has no private mark and the subject still is displayed.This can be customized by putting the following entry in the NOTES.INI of the server:RNR_MAKE_TOPIC_PRIVATE=1
DOMI integration with IPS enabled

This week I had the issue that a customer has enabled IPS for any outgoing http/https traffic which caused a non-working DOMI integration because the token could not be approved.With a very helpful link from the HCL Support the issue could easily be solved by whitelisting the request to "integration-auth-token.hcltechsw.com" on port 443.
Attachment is missing from meeting invitation

Today I received an information from a friend at HCL (a.k.a. "Wickerl" ) that attachments get lost when sending a meeting invitation to another Domino Domain. In the HCL Software Forum a user complained that this issue also occurs when sending a meeting invitation to external users.This issue is described in SPR # SJOICG3K9F.
HCL Verse on Premises and HTTP error 404

Today I implemented VoP on a Domino Server running on an iSeries like the "implementation" always is done. But afterwards I received an HTTP error 404 when trying to open the URL https://mailserver.company.com/verse.After some rechecks ( did I put the JAR files to the correct location and did I modify the owner ) I recreated the redirect database, rechecked the server configuration but could not get rid of this issue.
HCL Nomad Web – User moved to another Domino Server

Today I had the issue that a user could not successfully complete the initial setup of HCL Nomad Web. The user always received the following error message: Afterwards I checked the result of the LDAP request for the home server which looked fine and the Domino Server also was available. So what could cause this error message ?
CAUSE: the user was moved to another mail server some days ago !!

Calendar entry not displaying notes in HCL Verse 3.x

Today I had the issue that a customer complained that notices on the calendar form keep on loading and loading and you're not able to create a calendar entry or even display the content of the notes an existing calendar entry.After some conversation with HCL Support ( which again was working extremely fast in person of Suraj Joshi ) I received the information that the upgrade to HCL Domino 12.0.2 could cause this issue.
As mentioned in the official Defect Article this only occurs when the display language of the browser is set to another language than English.
HCL Notes V12.0.2 and embedded views / UPDATED !!

After migrating a Domino environment to 12.0.2 and upgrading the Notes Clients we could see the following issue. In an application where documents from another application should have been displayed in an embedded view the embedded view was not filled and kept empty.

Today I had the issue that TOTP was not working fine at a customer site. The main issue was that a user could bypass the TOTP authentication, was routed to the MFA setup site, clicked “Finished” and was routed to the homepage.nsf.

First of all I want to thank Theo Heselmans and his whole team for making this great event in Bruges possible !! It was very cool to see all the guys from the “Yellow Bubble” again in person.
During this conference HCL delivered great news around the HCL Collaboration Solutions and also the corresponding roadmaps ( which cannot be seen from other competitors! It’s almost impossible to name all upcoming features or releases but I’ll try to name the most important ones for me
HCL SafeLinx 1.3 Installer issue on Windows

Today I had the issue that after an installation of HCL SafeLinx 1.3 on Windows I could not get a connection from the HCL SafeLinx Administrator to the HCL SL Access Manager.
After opening a case I received the information that there has been an issue inside the installer which was fixed on May 12th.

I had the issue that after a migration of a Domino environment all users received error messages after answering meeting invitations.
The customer prepared 2 Ubuntu LTS 20.04 server with Kernel version 5.x for the new Domino environment and we moved the data partitions to the new servers, installed 12.0.1FP1 and afterwards the troubles started.

Sametime Proxy Server issue after upgrading to 11.6 IF2

Yesterday I upgraded a Sametime Proxy Server 11.6 to 11.6 IF2. After the upgrade you could login but then the screen hang and your chats did not display.First I thought about an issue with the database connection and checked the configuration which looked fine. Then Ales sent me a link which helped to get the Proxy Server running again

Today I had the issue that a customer complained that there´s no option to book rooms or resources within VoP 2.x.
After some investigation the reason was found and corrected. If you are using the React form form appointments with the NOTES.INI entry VOP_GK_FEATURE_168=0 you’ll not be able to book rooms or resources within a calendar entry.

With the newly released Beta3 of HCL Domino V12 ( the GA has been announced for June 7th 2021 ) it´squite easy to create backups without additional software.First of all you have to upgrade your Domino Server to Beta3.- I upgraded my Beta2 without any troubles to Beta3. So there´s no need to uninstall and reinstall !

In the weekend I had to migrate a Domino environment from 9.0.1.x to the latest release. What I could see during the migration:Backup the NOTES.INI before you run the "UPDDOMSVR" command (!)Maybe it was in this environment but after running the UPDDOMSVR the NOTES.INI only contained 3 lines and all the other informations have been gone. ICXT customers preparation before Connections 7.0 eGA

We received the following information regarding the "Export as PDF" function in HCL Connections 7.x: We are reaching out to our customers who have deployed ICXT to make sure you are aware of the special instructions that you should follow as part of your Connections 7.0 upgrade.
Connections 7.0 delivers enhancements to the Export to PDF capability and introduces new capabilities, such as community templates, that will require upgrading your ICXT deployment. Please also note that you should not install the Feature Foundation component during your Connections 7 install, as that is only for customers who do not already have ICXT. Please see below for the detailed instructions on upgrading to Connections 7.0.
